Get a little more money from an online only bank

Now, if you were like me and now are a little hesitant about locking too much of your money in investments, here is a way to make interest without locking away your money.   Online banks like ING direct and Ally (formerly GMAC) have floating interest rates on their savings accounts around 5%.  Now, that is a great deal for an account that the longest you will have to wait for your money is about 3 days for the bank transfer.

Now, that is an investment, that I can trust in.  Also, it is FDIC insured so you will at least have some kind of safety net if we have a second recession.   It is true that this isn’t the next genius plan to make boat loads of money… but every little bit helps.
